General Tips for Testing

  1. Every time you test, record the kit used and its lot number, the name and lot number of the product you are testing, the person performing the test, and the date.
  2. Record test results immediately upon finishing testing.
  3. Do not keep the lateral flow strips as evidence of testing results - the strip can change as it dries out. Instead, make a photocopy or take a picture for your records. GFCO does not need to receive pictures of test strips with your quarterly testing submissions.
  4. Run the test according to the manufacturer's insert. Do not change the protocol without consulting the manufacturer, and get any alternative testing instructions in writing.
