GFCO has learned that MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Liquid SPF 50, bearing the GFCO certification logo, is still available for sale with hydrolyzed wheat protein as an ingredient after the manufacturer informed us in May 2018 that they would no longer use the GFCO logo on this product. The manufacturer has confirmed that they stopped using the GFCO logo on new products once we found this problem last year, but there may still be older product on store shelves.
GFCO does not certify any product that contains hydrolyzed wheat protein. Gluten free consumers should not use this product, and should check the ingredient list of all Mychelle products bearing the GF logo to ensure that they do not contain hydrolyzed wheat protein.
